The spirit of the holidays often inspires us to see the world in a different light. We all bring our own history, experience and sensibility to the season.

Salvador Dali believed in the mystical, the spiritual and in science. He claimed to be a devout Catholic and an agnostic. He espoused the Omega Point Theory, which says that the universe evolves towards an ultimate state of complexity and spiritual consciousness.

Trying to figure out what was in Dali’s mind when he painted Celestial Elephant is impossible, but it’s easy to see the joy and mystery and otherworldliness that the work evokes.
